Reneé Hall

Welcome to my website. I am Ulysha Reneé Hall.

I have proudly served the great men and women in blue as the Dallas Police Department Chief since 2017. I recently moved on from that position to explore new opportunities for serving the citizens of the United States.

I knew from a very early age that I wanted to go into Justice, but I had thought I wanted to be a lawyer. But, I was later drawn into policing, and I prepared for that by getting a B.S. in Criminal Justice – and then later getting a Master’s degree in Security Administration and a Master’s in Intelligence Analysis. I have since also attended the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Virginia.

I first served in the Detroit Police Department where my own father, Ulysses Brown, served and lost his life in the line of duty.

While policing is highly challenging, it is also highly gratifying, and I enjoy helping and protecting others.

Please feel free to follow my blog here for updates about me, events where I may appear, and news around organizations that I am interested in.

Yours,

Reneé Hall

  1. Chief Hall is the epitome of black women making history, breaking down barriers, being the FIRST, and a true TRAILBLAZER! She has definitely left her mark her in Dallas and will be greatly missed. There were many great changes made within the department, as well as in the city because of her. She is the most humble, respectable, and God fearing Chief to ever sit in the seat in Dallas. I had never been so interested in what was going on in our police department than I was during Chief Hall’s tenure. She was what this city needed as a police chief and her leaving is definitely a loss to the City of Dallas. For a truly great police chief is hard to find, difficult to part with, and impossible to forget.
