Farewell Tribute Video

I would like to thank my family at the Dallas Police Department for this farewell tribute video! I am very touched and honored by your expressions of support, respect, and camaraderie!

Farewell Chief – A Tribute to Chief Reneé Hall

I want to again express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you, and let you know how thankful and proud I am to have led such an amazing group of women and men. Your resilience and continued dedication to the Department, the city, and to one another is extraordinary.

As you are aware, these three years where I served with you have witnessed a series of unprecedented events for the City of Dallas. Just this past year we were put into the middle of a worldwide pandemic, and we were responsible for public safety during historic riots and civil unrest. Through it all you continued to show up and give the best of who you are and all that you have, to the residents of the city of Dallas.

Because of that tenacity and commitment in my fellow men and women in blue, it has been an honor to work along side you to provide a pathway for growth and continued success. It was truly your hard work, your commitment and your love for the safety of others that enabled us to accomplish a lot of positive changes in these last three years.

This video reminds me of so many memorable events over my time with you, but I was most proud of the opportunity I had to lead a group of women and men who, despite the tragedies and difficulties they’ve faced over the years, continue to show up, push the agenda, and do it all with exceptional professionalism and integrity.

May God continue to bless and keep all of you. I pray for you a prosperous future. I love you all.

It has been a blessing and a privilege!

  1. Chief Hall, thank you so much for serving the City of Dallas. You are an amazing woman and Chief. I applaud you for all that you have done. I know I will miss you but my daughter (Samantha) will miss you more. She met you when she was 3 years old and has been rooting for you every since (she’s 6 now). She would come to events with me and you never missed a beat with acknowledging her and that meant a lot to her. Please know your work, your humbleness and love for the community will never go unnoticed. Take care Chief Hall and many continued blessings.

  2. Thank you for your service to Dallas. I liked the way you handled the protests and I liked that you did not back down. If the protesters did not follow orders and/or the law you acted instead of being concerned with political correctness. I appreciate that you are not a people pleaser but someone who follows the law and expects the same from other regardless of what group is being represented. I am sorry to see you go but feel like you have bigger and better things in store for you. Good luck to you!
