Renee Hall Former Dallas Police Chief on her police department's high homicide case solve rate.
Reneé Hall speaks about how the Dallas Police Department achieved a much-higher-than-average homicide case solution rate.

Reneé Hall was interviewed by chief investigative correspondent, Jim Axelrod, in a segment called Police officer seeks to mend community relationship with law enforcement that highlighted Hall’s tenure as the Dallas P.D. chief, during which her department bucked the national trend of solving less than 50% of homicide cases as the murder rate spiked up while the country went into COVID lockdowns.

During that time, the Dallas police solved better than 70% of homicide cases in the city, achieving a solve rate a little more than 20% better than the nationwide average.

Hall has stated that this improvement was achieved through improving community relations between the police and historically underrepresented communities, particularly the hispanic community. Hall also pushed to increase diversity in the police and Dallas police leadership positions, and has touted the work of her leadership team members as well as the other officers that served in the Dallas police.
